在中文语境中：

元，是一种状态，是“人文之元，肇自太极”的万物之始；

元，是一种范畴，是求索万物最小单元的万物本源。

无论“之始”还是“本源”，元所指向的都是事物本体之核心。

在英文语义里：

Meta，是一种changed变化；

Meta，是一种beyond超越。

无论“changed”还是“beyond”， Meta所表征的都是事物升维的状态。

 

In a Chinese context,

Meta is a status of beginning of things where each element of humanity comes from Taiji.

Meta is a category of the origin of things that is the smallest element of beings.

Regardless of‘beginning’ or ‘origin’, Yuan refers to the core and essence of things.

In an English context,

Meta means changed.

Meta means beyond.

Regardless of‘changed’ or‘beyond’, what Meta represents is the ascension of things.

 

 

 

万物互联，众生孤独

未来人类的根本困境是感性贫困、身心分离。

面对数智技术带来生命伦理的“非人或新人”新命题，

设计何以为“人”，又何以安顿“身心”？

 

教义渐老，世界日新

后疫情时代全球化危机加剧未来的不确定性。

面对危机变革之下传统知识教育体系的钝化与失能，

设计何以为“新”，又何以重塑“发展”？

 

穷源尽流，行向何方

互联网“大航海“时代，催生新的创造性和生产性力量。

面对未来富有意义的可能世界的建构，

设计何以为“用”，又何以超越“实践”？

 

如是，设计作为人类认识世界、改造世界的思维与实践方式与人类文明共生共荣，成为人类生活在地球上发展出如今多元并存的文化图景的重要推动方式，也让我们更有力量地面对世界。

 

 

Every thing is connected, and all beings are solitude.

The fundamental dilemma of the future is the poverty of the senses and the separation of mind and body. 

With digital intelligent technologies, a new proposition of ‘inhuman or new human" in an ethics sense emerges. How to design for ‘human’ and how to relocate the ‘mind and body’?

 

Doctrine is getting old, and the world is getting new.

The crisis of globalization in the post-epidemic era has increased the uncertainty of the future. 

With the insufficiency of traditional knowledge and education systems in such a changing context,

how would design being 'new' and how would design reshaping the concept of ‘development’?

 

Where to go when running out of sources?

The ‘great voyage’ of the Internet facilitates new creative and productive forces. 

In order to construct a meaningful future，

how would design be ‘implemented’ and how would it go beyond ‘practice’ ? 

 

In this way, design, as a way of thinking and practicing that enables humans to understand and transform the world, has become an important driving force in the development of the diverse cultural landscape in where we live, and has given us the strength to confront the world.

 

 

今天，我们不妨借用“元”，这一关于学问的学问，研究科学之科学。在2020“重启”之后，2021从“元”开始，共同探索如何设计“设计”。从而真正地进入新时代的意境之中，在新的人类现场，勇敢地完成设计系统的迭代，重建新时代的有为之学。

 

Today, we might use ‘meta’— the study of studying, and the research science of science.After the ‘re-’for 2020, 2021 started with ‘meta’, to exploring how to design ‘design’.Thereby,it is truly entering the context of a new era, bravely confronting the iteration of design systems in a new human scape, and reconstructing the science of promising in a new era.
